Chemical warfare suit

New look for chemical warfare suit

If the look of this new protective suit doesn't do the job, the list of its protective qualities will certainly impress.

A favourite of military units worldwide, the MkIVa Chemical Biological Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) Protective Suit is the latest in a line of protection suits.

Impressive technology delivers solutions that keep the wearer protected, comfortable and operating efficiently within an active operational environment. Lightweight, tough and versatile it can be worn as an over-garment or as a standalone ensemble.

The new suit has been developed with the help of Porton Man, an articulated manikin which helps researchers at Defence Science Technology Laboratory (Dstl) in their search for high protective clothing that can withstand a range of CBRN agents.

The rip stop polyester cotton outer material is tear and abrasion resistant, water repellent as well as flame resistant. The inner layer is a lightweight knitted carbon, providing durability and comfort to the wearer. Both layers can be laundered, prolonging operational usage.
