Science and technology horizon scanning: opening the pathways for innovation

Horizon Scanning is a vital component in MOD's research programme, aiming to draw attention to interesting new developments in science and technology, such that opportunities can be exploited and surprises avoided. Toward this end, since January 2006, Dstl has been systematically scanning a very broad 'horizon' of technical literature, initially with no bias for particular technical fields.
