Proposal Submission Dates

The Centre for Defence Enterprise (CDE) is open to any idea that can contribute to UK defence - on any subject and at any time

When are proposals selected?

For most proposals, on the third Thursday of each month a senior review panel selects the proposals that will be funded from all the submissions received and assessed during the preceding month.

To be considered at this meeting and allow time for expert technical assessment, all submissions must be made through the online portal by 0900 on the first Thursday of each month.

Feedback from the Review Panel will be provided as soon as possible after the meeting.

Review panel needs more details

We ask that all applicants be available for contact during the afternoon of the review panel meeting. This allows us to collect any clarification our assessors need and ensure that proposals with only minor issues can be reassessed on the same day.

Delay in obtaining clarification could mean decisions are postponed until the following month.

High value or complex proposals

High value or complex proposals may require further due diligence or discussion and may take longer to assess.

We recommend that if you are considering a high value or complex proposal you contact us at an early stage of your proposal preparation.

High or low assessment scores

Where proposals have received very high assessment scores, they may be fast-tracked and funded without the need to go to the review panel.

Equally, very low scoring or non-compliant proposals will be fast-tracked for rejection and not sent to the review panel.
