How to find us

By Road

The Harwell Campus is situated on the A4185 approximately halfway between Newbury and Oxford and can be accessed from the Milton interchange of the A34.

From the Fermi Entrance which is accessed from the A4185, go straight on at the mini round-about and turn right for the Start Electron building. The Start Electron building is directly opposite the circular Diamond Light Source Building.

By Train

The Harwell Science and Innovation Campus is six miles south-west of Didcot Parkway station, less than 60 minutes journey from London Paddington. Didcot also provides connections to Birmingham, the West of England and South Wales.

Taxis are available from the station (journey time about 10 – 15 minutes to CDE).

By Bus

A regular bus service also runs to the campus. Thames Travel’s X32 or 96 bus service runs between Oxford, Didcot Parkway, RAL (ask for Harwell IBC Bus Station, Fermi Avenue) and Wantage. Monday to Fridays (except Bank Holidays). .

Newbury Buses 6 and 9 services run between Newbury, Harwell campus (ask for IBC Bus Station) and Didcot Parkway. Monday to Saturday (except Bank Holidays).

The Start Electron building is adjacent to the bus stops opposite the Diamond Light Source Building.
