Setting up an Enterprise Account
Why you need an account
- You need an account in order to access the Portal through which you submit your proposal to the MOD. Proposals are submitted through the account to the MOD and account holders can track their Proposals online as they progress through the assessment process - see Tracking a Proposal.
- By opening an account you will enable the MOD to be more aware of your capabilities and, as our relationship develops, allow the MOD to keep you better informed - not least on the progress of your proposals. Please note that the MOD cannot see any information generated unless the opportunity is submitted for consideration as a proposal.
Types of account
There are 2 types of account, Single-User and Multiple-User accounts. The owner of the account, called the Enterprise Authority (EA). A brief overview of the two types of account is as follows:
Single-User Account
Single-User accounts are designed to be used by individuals where:
- Your email address is supplied by a commercial email service provider and you do not own the domain name. For example "....@googlemail.com".
- Your email address is based upon a domain name that you own and you do not wish to collaborate with other users of your domain to develop, submit and track proposals with the MOD.
- You have access to an employer's domain name and the employer has agreed to employees having individual accounts and using the employer's domain name and resources to develop, submit and track proposals with the MOD.
Multiple-User Account
- An enterprise can set up a Multi-User Account to enable multiple roles within their organisation to develop and/or submit proposals. Multiple-User accounts from a single enterprise require an Enterprise Authority (EA) to sign up to the account who can then enable other staff within the enterprise to use the account in defined roles.
- The first person who registers a Multiple-User account with the MOD must be the EA and legally own the account on behalf of their enterprise. This person will be accepting the terms and conditions of the account on behalf of the enterprise.
- The Multiple-User account option is available for teams to develop opportunities online. To use a Multiple-User account all users must share or have access to the same email domain name i.e. must all be ...@yourorganisation.com
Who should select a Multiple-User account option?
- You are the legal authority for a domain name owned by an enterprise and you wish to establish an account within which invited employees can collaborate to develop, submit and track proposals with the MOD. The structure of the account will be determined by nominated members of your enterprise. Please see the 'Structuring a Multiple-User Account' section in the Account Manual.
- You are the legal authority for a domain name owned by an enterprise and you do not wish employees to use the enterprise's domain name in the Single-User mode.
- A key aspect of the Multiple-User account is the flexibility in the way it can be configured and used as the MOD does not wish to constrain enterprises in the way they wish to organise themselves.
- Users are initially invited to hold one of the six account roles. Further details are available in the Account Manual. The six account roles fall into two classes:
- Enterprise Management roles.
- Enterprise Authority - legally owns the account on behalf of the Enterprise.
- Enterprise Proxy- administers the account on behalf of the Enterprise Authority.
- Enterprise Observer - can see all published proposals.
- Proposal Development roles.
- Proposal Champion - creates opportunity and manages proposal submissions to MOD.
- Opportunity Manager - enters opportunity information and publishes proposals for internal review.
- Proposal Observer - reviews proposal content and contributes information to the OM and PC.
