Cyber Defence - Next Generation Analytical Tools
(Morning Session, 0930 start)
Cyber & Influence Science and Technology Centre is making a CDE Call for innovative research proposals Next Generation Analytical Tools for Cyber Defence.
Protecting MOD systems from sophisticated threats is an increasing challenge in a networked world. This seminar and call for proposals focuses upon novel approaches to cyber defence with particular emphasis on:
- Enhanced Situational Awareness (ESA) will focus on the ability of tools and techniques that allow computer network defense operators to dynamically query a distributed information repository and visualize the results in support of agile risk based decision-making.
- Countering Sophisticated Attacks (CSA) will focus on the ability to detect and report previously unreported computer network attacks in real-time.
- Decision Support for Network Defence (DSCD) will focus upon innovative ways of exploring the impact that a computer network attack can have at the business process level.
- Co-operative working for Network Defence (CWCD) will focus upon novel information sharing and interaction paradigms that facilitate agile risk based decision-making.
This is a new and challenging area of research and this call for research spans the range of technical, human and computer science.
The event will outline the challenges faced in these areas and the process for participating in this call.
