Defence Research is the only annual event where the UK MOD presents the whole of its
million annual research investment to industry, academia and other suppliers, alongside key
members of the MOD and the Armed Services. The MOD offers private sector businesses and
organisations the opportunity to deal directly with the entire defence research community through
exhibition, networking and sponsorship.
science | innovation | technology (SIT) is the MOD organisation responsible for the science and technology
research needed to keep the Armed Forces one step ahead of the enemy on a battlefield shaped by
technology that proliferates and changes on a weekly and monthly basis. To meet this challenge the MOD
is fundamentally changing how it does business to become more agile, open and innovative.
The Defence Research event is part of an extensive engagement programme for all stakeholders
across the MOD, Armed Forces and industry, in particular providing opportunities for suppliers
which are innovative, smaller-scale or academic and from outside the traditional defence market.
