C4ISTAR and CBRN

Testing for gamma emissions with a Radiac Surface Meter

Command, Control, Communication, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, Target Acquisition and Reconnaissance (C4ISTAR) involves the collection, processing, prioritising and presentation of all data needed by UK Armed Forces. This is essential to our ability to provide mission critical, timely and relevant information to the military commanders and is at the heart of delivering the vision for a fully integrated and highly interoperable force that is a Network Enabled Capability (NEC).

Detection inherent in C4ISTAR is critical to counter the threat or use of Chemical, Biological, Radiological or Nuclear (CBRN) weapons. Technologies to support CBRN protection focus on timely warning, protecting the individual and ensuring that a unit/force can rapidly recover from an event to continue with their mission.
